Frequently asked questions
Answers to the questions we are asked most often before quoting. If yours is not here, call +971 55 472 4451 and ask for Design & Estimation.
Lead times, tooling and quantities
What are your typical lead times?
Standard-size tanks and portable toilets produced from existing moulds ship in two to three weeks. Custom work requiring a new mould runs six to eight weeks, including tooling. Site-applied lining work is scheduled around your shutdown window.
Do I have to pay for a mould?
For custom shapes, yes — tooling is a one-time cost, quoted separately from the parts. We retain the mould, so repeat orders carry no further tooling charge. For volume orders the tooling cost is often amortised into the unit price instead; ask us to quote both ways.
Is there a minimum order quantity?
No minimum for tanks, linings or portable toilets — we produce one-offs routinely. Small moulded components are more economical in batches, and we will tell you the quantity at which the price breaks.
Materials and performance
Which chemicals can your tanks hold?
That depends on resin selection rather than the tank itself. General-purpose polyester suits water and mild solutions; isophthalic and vinylester resins handle acids, alkalis and oxidising agents; phenolic systems are specified where fire performance governs. Send us the chemical, its concentration and its operating temperature, and we will specify the resin and laminate schedule against it.
What temperature range can GRP handle?
Standard polyester laminates are suitable to around 60 °C in continuous service. Vinylester extends that meaningfully, and specific systems go higher again. Tell us your continuous and peak temperatures and we will confirm what the laminate will take.
How long does GRP last, and what maintenance does it need?
Correctly specified GRP does not corrode and needs no painting or protective coating, because the colour is pigmented into the gel coat in the mould. In UAE conditions the main consideration is UV exposure, which we address with a UV-stabilised gel coat. Routine maintenance is cleaning.
Can you match a specific colour?
Yes — any standard RAL colour, pigmented in-mould. Because the colour is in the gel coat rather than painted on, it does not chip and never needs recoating. Send us the RAL reference with your enquiry.
Working with us
Do you install on site, or supply only?
Both. Tank and bund lining, wet room and gutter lining, and vehicle lining are all applied on site by our own crews. Moulded products are delivered and, where required, installed and commissioned.
Do you supply outside the UAE?
We manufacture in Ajman and supply across the UAE, with our main infrastructure works in Ajman, Sharjah, Dubai and the Northern Emirates. For enquiries beyond the UAE, tell us the destination and we will quote delivered.
Are you certified?
Yes. We manufacture under a certified ISO 9001:2015 quality management system, audited against the current edition of the standard.
How do I get a quote?
Send whatever you have — a drawing, a photograph, or just dimensions. The fastest quotes come from: capacity or dimensions, the medium being stored, operating temperature, quantity required, colour, and the installation location. Email info@fgiuae.com or call +971 55 472 4451.
